But first—Today in History—let’s dive in! 🚀🔍

Crime: On November 4, 1995, Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin was shot and killed after a peace rally in Tel Aviv, Israel. He was 73 years old. Rabin was walking to his car when Yigal Amir, a 27-year-old law student with ties to a far-right Jewish group, shot him in the arm and back. Rabin died later during surgery at a hospital in Tel Aviv. The police arrested Amir at the scene, and he admitted to the shooting, saying he did it because Rabin wanted to make peace with the Arabs.

War: On November 4, 1956, Soviet tanks rolled into Budapest, the capital city of Hungary, with the intent to decisively crush, once and for all, the national uprising that had erupted just 12 days earlier. This uprising was a bold and desperate attempt by the Hungarian people to assert their desire for greater autonomy and freedom from the oppressive grip of Soviet control. The intervention by Soviet forces was brutal and overwhelming, resulting in a devastating toll on the Hungarian population. Thousands of individuals were killed and wounded during the violent crackdown, and the fear and chaos that made a quarter million Hungarians to flee their homeland.

Religion: On November 4, 1646, the Massachusetts Bay Colony took a big step by enacting a significant and severe law that underscored the colony's commitment to its religious convictions. This law made it a capital offense for any individual to deny that the Bible is the Word of God, thereby elevating such denial to the gravest level of criminality, punishable by death. The decision to implement such a stringent measure was a clear sign that the law makers were very religious and conservative.

Mafia: On November 4, 2020, a major police operation took place in two Italian cities, leading to the arrest of 74 individuals linked to the Nigerian mafia. Among those arrested was the group's alleged leader, 50-year-old Emmanuel Okenwe, who is widely known by the nickname “Boogye.” Around 200 officers were involved in targeting Boogye’s gang, known as The Vikings, in the cities of Turin and Ferrara. This group was primarily involved in activities related to prostitution and drug trafficking.
