
LATE FRIDAY POST! 🎒🔥 This week we shared with some seriously serious convos—Andrew Bustamante gave a play by play of the first Trump assassination attempt after visiting the site, discussed some CIA theories, and we counted down the deadliest cults in history! Missed out? We got ya. But first, let’s dive into some today in history facts👇


Crime: On October, 18, 1968, world-famous singer, songwriter and musician John Lennon and his girlfriend Yoko Ono were arrested for the possession of drugs. Both of them were married to other people at that time and a few days ago the couple had announced that Ono was pregnant with Lennon’s baby.
Drug-sniffing dogs found 200 grams of hashish, a cigarette rolling machine with traces of marijuana and half a gram of morphine in their home in London. At first, the couple denied to accept that drugs had any connection with them however later the co-lead vocalist and guitarist of Beatles pleaded guilty to save Ono from deportation. Unfortunately, Ono’s pregnancy ended in a miscarriage a few days after their arrest.

War: On October, 18, 1898, U.S. General John R. Brooke became the military governor of Puerto Rico, formalizing U.S. authority over the island’s one million inhabitants. United States had to face very little resistance in achieving this breakthrough as it lost only seven soldiers to gain the control over the island of Puerto Rico by the August, 1898.
In December, the Treaty of Paris was signed, ending the Spanish-American War and officially approving the cession of Puerto Rico to the United States.
Religion: On 18, October, 1009, Fatimid caliph al-Hakim bi-Amr Allah ordered the complete destruction of The Church of the Holy Sepulcher. It was an attempt to destroy the prominent places where Christians worshiped in Palestine and Egypt. The 4th century church is one of the holiest site in Christianity and is also known as the Church of the Resurrection.
The building of the church was reconstructed in 11th century during the reign of Emperor Constantine IX Monomachos and Patriarch Nicephorus of Jerusalem in 1048. It has been renovated multiple times since then. Due to its religious significance and magnificent architecture it is receives a lot of pilgrims and tourists all year round.

Mafia: On October 18, 1931, the Boss of Chicago Outfit “Al Capone” was convicted. He was only 33 years old at that time. He rose through the ranks at a very young age and ruled the world of crime in the “Windy City“ for almost seven years. Among his inner circles he was known as “Scarface“.
In the following month after his conviction, he was sentenced to eleven years in federal prison. A hefty fine of $50,000 was imposed and he was made to pay $7,692 for court costs and $215,000 plus interest due on back taxes. After his appeals were turned down, he served his sentence in U.S. Penitentiary in Atlanta and at Alcatraz.
